This was a two month project where I researched the area of Lake Saco and planned a bath house in the forested hillside that overlooked the lake. The users of the bath house were the hikers that stayed in the resort at the base of the mountain who would be tired from their hike. I set the feel of the bath house to compress and then release in the flow of the movement through the bath house. The entrance would curve off of the trail to invite travelers in the building, compress them to the center to drop off their gear and change, and then progress through the building to reach the saunas and baths. The end opens up horizontally and vertically to truly emphasize the view you get from the overlook.
